The last time I’ve been to Cebu was when I was still a kid. I was probably in grade school then. From what I can remember, our family just went to the Magellan’s cross and then spent the rest of our vacation at a beach resort in Moal Boal. Back then I get really dark after spending hours under the sun.
Last weekend, I went back to Cebu with my officemates this time around. Like in most of my trips, I was just told to buy a plane ticket with taking advantage of the promo fare the only thing in mind.
We didn’t really get off to a good start. Our flight was at 7:35 in the morning. It was almost 6:00 in the morning when we left our condo in Taguig going to NAIA Terminal 3. We were caught in traffic on our way to the airport and we were greeted with long lines when we arrived at the departure area. As if that wasn’t enough, we had to pay excess baggage, which had been a harbinger of a bigger airport dilemma.
After checking in our luggage, we went straight to the boarding area and rode the shuttle to the plane. Once we settled in, there was nothing else to do but sleep since our flight was – you guessed it – delayed.
We arrived in Cebu at around 9:00 in the morning. We got our baggage and found out that two wheels from Alex’s luggage were missing. I would have to talk about this in a different blog entry.
We took a cab from Mactain Airport to Alba Uno. Halfway through, the cab unfortunately caught a flat tire. We thought someone was putting a joke on wheels at our expense. We had no choice but to tranfer cabs. Good thing it was a smooth trip to the hotel on our second cab.
After what we went through, arriving at Alba Uno Residencia was like finding water in the middle of a desert. It’s not one of more popular or fancier hotels, but it’s strategically located near the IT Park. We were welcomed by friendly staff and the rooms are clean.
What we really enjoyed about Alba Uno is their room service. Since we were tired from the trip, we ordered food to be brought in the moment we set foot in our hotel room.
After the filling meal, there nothing left to do but sleep. We slept the rest of the day and woke up at around 5:00 in the afternoon just in time to get ourselves ready for dinner. Seline met up with a friend who’s based in Cebu. We had dinner at Ilaputi where I had Mushroom Milkfish.
We headed back to the hotel and prepped up for a night out. We’ve been hearing great reviews about the The Penthouse as the best place to go for a night out so we checked it our. There weren’t much people in club since it was a bit early. We decided to load up somewhere else. We ended up at MO2.
We tried going back The Penthouse because we already had enough drinks at MO2. Plus, it was already late (or should I say early) when we left MO2. We ended up at carinderia beside The Penthouse.
