No matter how busy you may think you are, you must find time for reading, or surrender yourself to self-chosen ignorance.
It’s about time I get back to reading. I’ve been so preoccupied with a lot of things that I forget to immerse myself in the simple joys of reading books. And the book fair at SMX that we went to over the weekend was a great way to start it off.
Book fair or not, I always check out the bargain section of bookstores. I like reading mystery novels and the bargain section has a lot of them at 99 pesos each!
E-Book vs. Paper Books
I have nothing against e-books and electornic readers like Kindle. As a matter of fact I think they are quite convenient especially when traveling. During my Galaxy Tab days, I had the Kindle app and although I had quite a number of e-books stored, I was only able to read John Grisham’s The Partner.
I still prefer paper books over e-books. I enjoy flipping the pages and affixing my signature on my copies. In addition, I love the smell of books, especially the old ones. The scent is so comforting and homey.
So here are the books I got from the book fair:
I look at the books I bought and see that I’ve got at least one of each genre I enjoy reading. I already started reading The Magic and The Fault in Our Stars. I’ll try to share my thoughts in the coming days.
