During my days as a student, I grew up having the notion that I should study well so that I'd end up with a nice job - a job that would allow me to grow professionally, surrounded by people who appreciate and value what I do, and enable me to contribute something significant to society. Believing that the ideal profession is at hand, I did perform to the best of my abilities.
Little did I know that my first taste of employment would be the exact opposite.
With my current job, I don't think this is the
nice job that I was looking forward to. To be brutally honest, it's not even nice! I have never seen a company belittle the very people who work the hardest, the way the company I work for does. Yes, it is the same organization that
sweeps dirt under the rug. It's a shame the upper management conspicuously show heartlessness toward people who pumps the blood for the department that is unmistakably one of the most important divisions in the system.
There may not be a perfect company, but an institution who has people who want to improve the system and provide a better working environment sets it apart from the others who lousily patch shortcomings hoping that problems would die natural deaths.
No matter how ugly things may seem, I still believe all is not lost. I'm still hoping things will be better. But for this to happen, people must want it.
