Butterfly On A Wheel

Earlier this evening I watched Butterfly On A Wheel on Star Movies.  I don't remember this film being shown here in the Philippines.  Good thing it premiered on Star Movies.  

It’s another Gerard Butler film. During the first few scenes, I thought it was one of the typical hostage-ransom kind of movie, but as the story progressed, it became more interesting and more unpredictable.

It’s about a man, Neil (played by Butler) who has everything – a loving wife, a beautiful daughter and a successful career.  Everything anyone could ask for.  All of this changes when her daughter, Sophie, gets kidnapped.  Neil, together with his wife, Abby (Maria Bello), submits to the orders of the kidnapper (Pierce Brosnan).  The demands turn out to be more horrifying as the couple realizes he is not after money. 

I’d recommend this movie to those who are fond of mystery films.I thought it was an action-packed movie, but it appeals more to those who enjoy plot twists and surprise endings.  Who doesn’t?

This movie reminds me of "Trapped" starring Charlize Theron, Stuart Townsend, Dakota Fanning, Kevin Bacon and Courtney Love. Aside from a star-studded cast as well, both played around kidnapping the child of a couple who has everything but in the end, it's not the money the kidnappers were after.

I've heard of Trapped, but I never had the chance to watch it. If it probably appears on TV or somewhere on the net. Hehehehe! Nosebleed a! Panindigan na natin 'to! Wahahaha!
