Christmas is in the air, especially in the Philippines where the Christmas season starts as soon as we hit the "Ber" months. I'm sure a lot of people already posted their wish list online through their respective blogs and social networking sites, and I won't be the last to do so.
On this list, I'm sharing the things I'm hoping to receive this Christmas. The items are arranged according to preference (1 being the most preferred).
Without further ado, here are the top 15 things I want for Christmas 2008:

15. Wireless Remote for Canon EOS 400D
Most of the items in the wish list are photography-related items. Let's start the list with a wireless remote for the Canon EOS 400D that I own. I read in a photography book, that a wireless remote helps in producing sharper pictures. It lessens vibrations which causes pictures to be blurry.
14. Starbucks Coffee Press
Needless to say, I'm a coffee drinker. Though I've lessened my coffee intake for the past few months for health reasons, I will still enjoy a cup or two every now and then. I've always wanted to have my own coffee maker, but I think the coffee press is much more fun!
13. Picture Frames
I'm probably one of the few people who actually enjoy receiving picture frames as presents. Whenever I join exchange gifts, I always encounter the rule to not give picture frames. I understand the need to stipulate the rule. Picture frames have become worry-free, foolproof presents. But then again, it loses the thought if you're giving it to someone who doesn't appreciate picture frames. Oftentimes, I look at frames at home interior shops and I would always see pieces that I'd like to buy. If you want to give me a picture frame this Christmas, I would gladly accept it. Just pick the good ones. Hehehe!
12. Chuck Taylors
I already have gray Chucks and another one that's oddly colored. It's like a combination of deep green and black. Anyway, I prefer neutral colors so I'd appreciate either the brown or the black Chucks. I'm a size 7. Hehehe!
11. Side Table Lamp
While shopping for Christmas gifts yesterday, I saw this very elegant side table lamp at Regalong Pambahay. Between the black and the white, I'd go for the black one. But if there's a brown version, that would be better.
10. Samsonite luggage
Samsonite never stops coming up with great luggage. I fell in love with their X'ion 2 29" Expandable Spinner the moment I saw it at SM Department Store. According to the online catalog, there are only two colors, but I'm sure I saw a silver model at SM. That one I like.
9. Card Reader
Another photography gadget, I need a card reader - a durable one at that. I saw a ScanDisk compact flash reader and it looks pretty hardy. However, I'm hoping there's another one that can read other memory card types.
8. MacBook Pro Shock-Proof Sleeve
I've been looking for this, but I can't seem to find one. A lot of people tell me they're everywhere, but I can't see them. I'm used to carrying my MacBook Pro with different bags, so I don't really need a laptop bag. I just need the sleeve that would provide protection for my favorite Apple gadget. A sleeve that comes in brown or tan would be great, but the most important thing is that it is shock-proof. An easy way to check if it is shock-proof is that if you pinch the foam part of the sleeve, it should leave an impression for a few seconds before returning to its original form.
7. Battery Pack for Canon EOS 400D
I have a battery grip that is capable of housing two battery packs, but currently, I only have one. So, I do need another one to maximize the battery grip and most importantly, prolong the camera's power especially when I'm out on trips.
6. Portable Hard Drive
Another gadget I need is a portable hard drive for my photos. It shouldn't be just any other external hard drive, but one that would easily transfer photos from the digital camera or from the memory card to the hard drive so that I don't need to bring around a laptop, especially when taking pictures while traveling. That would save me the extra baggage and would allow me to reuse the limited memory card(s) that I have. I saw a Canon model. Too expensive, but a really good one.
5. Compact Flash Memory Card
If I can't have the portable hard drive, then I would have to get another CompactFlash memory card. The one that I have now is 1.0 GB, but I think they have capacities as large as 16.0 GB. The greater the memory capacity, the merrier! By the way, it has to be made by a reputable manufacturer. You know how delicate virtual files are.
4. Kenneth Cole Watch
I really like Kenneth Cole watches! My father gave me my first Kenneth Cole watch (black), then I bought a brown one. Now, I want white. From the online catalog, I saw this round stainless watch with a white face. I tried to look for this one at the malls, but it seems it's not available in the Philippines. I'm planning to buy it as a Christmas / Birthday gift to myself. :) In case you know where I can get it, I would appreciate it if you would tell me. If I really can't find it, I will have to settle for my second choice.
3. Canon iXUS 80 IS
I can never have enough cameras. Just kidding! I need a camera I can bring to along practically everywhere I go, especially to events wherein bringing an SLR camera is too much. I don't really need a top-of-the-line model since I already have a digital SLR. The Canon iXUS 80 IS would do. And it comes in chocolate brown!
2. Lens Converter (Wide Angle and Telephoto)
I'm building up my photography accessories and I need the wide angle and telephoto lens converters. They can be a bit pricey, though. If I don't get them for Christmas, I would have to really save up for them (or charge it and pay in installments. Hehehe!). I'm thinking of getting the wide angle lens converter already if the Macau trip pushes through.
1. Wide Angle and Telephoto Lenses
So there's my Christmas wish list. I hope I didn't sound like a brat with all the stuff I'm hoping to get. A wish list is just a wish list. This Christmas, I may get one, two, some or even none of the things I've listed. At the end of the day, it won't matter how many gifts I get. What matters is how I celebrate this Christmas. I want to spend it with my family, friends and the people whom I love and care for. It will be a thanksgiving for all the blessings God endlessly showers me with, and to welcome the coming year.
On that note, I wish you a meaningful and blessed Christmas in advance! Happy Holidays!
