We drove all the way to Pampanga to spend Valentine's Day and "a weekend of everything that flies" at the 14th Philippine Hot Air Balloon fiesta held at the grounds of the Clark Freeport Zone. With people I know uploading pictures of the event through their respective networking sites, I realized that a lot of people took part in the event.
Our family stayed at the Clearwater Resort and Country Club, which is just a few minutes away from the grounds where the hot air balloon festival was held. Emily, Angelo and Antonio had a blast swimming and trying their luck at fishing, while I enjoyed taking pictures, as usual. The night before the hot air balloon spectacle, Ate Mary and Kuya Gerald brought us to Cioccolo, an interesting Italian restaurant with a nearby events venue with impressive interiors.
The next day, I don't know how we did it, but we were able to wake up at around 4:30 am, just in time to prepare ourselves for the balloon festival. Fortunately, we came to the venue early enough to find a good spot and wait for the balloons to start flying. Come to think of it, staring at flying oversized balloons is really boring, but I did enjoy taking pictures, seeing the variety of the hot air balloons, and more importantly, spending another weekend with the family.
Good thing I was on my days off. Until then!
