Happy Valentine's Day, Everyone!
I just came back from my Pampanga trip (which I'd blogging about in the coming days), but still I'd like to virtually celebrate Valentine's Day with this post, even if there are only a few minutes remaining of this day of love.
TypePad encouraged everyone to write about the thing that I've grown to love throughout the years. What else can it be, but blogging!
I can't remember the first post I wrote, but what inspired me to start to web log is my inner desire to be a journalist - a broadcast journalist to be exact. I like meeting new personalities, traveling the world, experiencing things, witnessing accounts, and eventually sharing them to other people. There was a part of me that wanted to be a source of information, knowledge, and wisdom. Ever since I was studying, it was being a journalist that I wish I'd do for a living. My profession. My life.
Unfortunately - which I've got no one else to blame but myself - I was not able to take it up as a major. However, that did not stop me to pursue writing. I made it a point to practice crafting compositions whenever possible and luckily, I was able to integrate it with my subjects and responsibilities as a student. Good thing writing was a highly demanded skill. But whenever I wanted to veer away from the required topics of discussion, I'd simply take out a sheet of paper and pen and start jotting down the thoughts that come out of my head.
Since I spent a lot of time on the net, I came across Blogger and that introduced to me to the wonderful world of web logging. And I thought to myself, "This is it!" I was elated in the realization that blogging will make my dreams come true. It may not be writing at a professional level, but at least it is something that would allow me to do what I've wanted to do all this time. No offense to Blogger, but I had to find something more personalized and so I met Blog-City. It was the first paid blog host that I was willing to subscribe to (by the way, it was my mother who paid for it. Hahahaha!). It was through Blog City that I realized how much I loved blogging. I had this sense of fulfillment. I had joy in my heart. It was such a blessing doing something that I truly enjoy.
Today, blogging couldn't have been any better. I've gone a long way. I have my own look and design, and thanks to my photography skills, my posts and stories are more colorful than ever. I'm surprised by the topics that I cover - I can talk about food, ideas, events, reviews, and traveling.
Now you understand why I don't mind spending for a blog. To others, it may be a waste. But to me, it is what keeps me sane, just like what I always say. Blogging has changed my life. It gave me a certain kind of happiness I may never get from other things. It gave a chance to live a dream and the hope to be an inspiration to other people.
On a lighter note, if there is one thing that I could ask of this blog, I'd like to have an advice column. Hahahaha!
I may be an average writer. I'm still in the learning process of widening my vocabulary, and my grammar may slip at times. But in spite of the imperfections, what I can be proud of is that every post that appears on this site is true and sincere. More than just being products of my mind and imagination, all entries come from the bottom of my heart.
Thanks to all my readers and may we share more blogging years together.
Again, Happy Valentine's Day!
Since TypePad requires that I tag five of my friends, I'm tagging Angelica, Carmel, Frances, Kristy, and Migs. Thanks guys for making it easy for me to complete the five. Hehehehe!
