Christmas Wish List 2011

It's that time of the year when people want a lot of things hoping somebody - a friend, a family member or even a total stranger - would gift them with.

It's always a wise idea to create a list and publish it on your blog or social networking sites for the world to see! You're actually doing your friends and family a favor by making it easier for them to decide what to give you on special occasions.

Kidding aside, it's just nice to take note of the material things we're longing for. Who knows? We might just get them sooner or later!

Here's my 2011 Christmas Wish List:

THE Sofabed

I thought we would have a hard time finding the perfect sofabed for the condo, but lo and behold, it's the first piece ever bought for Project: Perfect Pad:

Upholstery is made of suede-like fabric. The armrests are removable which makes it a perfect piece for limited spaces like ours. Under the seating is storage space. The color is, err, brown. Heehee.

We bought it from Our Home (SM North EDSA The Block branch). 

New Look!

I have a long and hectic day ahead, I still have to read some feeds and I'm hoping to get four and half hours of sleep max, but I just want to celebrate and welcome everyone to the new look of Quingdom.com!

I wish I could take the credit, but the design you are looking at right now is magnificently made by one of my good friends at work, Ralph Cifra. I've been bugging him for weeks to finish the design by pathetically incorporating hints to our daily conversations. It worked apparently. :P

Ralph, sorry for harassing you.  Hehehehe!  I love the design!  Thanks, Ralph!

Coffee Mugs

Earlier today Mama and I went all the way to SM Fairview to see if there's anything we can get from the three-day sale. We headed straight to the home section and I immediately browsed through the mugs and found this:

It came in four other designs, but since I have a penchant for uncommon modern designs that can easily fit in contemporary style, it wasn't too difficult to pick this one. I'd gladly serve my guests coffee with these mugs.

Moving on to another mug story - I'm having a hard time describing the shade of blue I want for the bedrooms of the condo unit. I've always coined it as the "Twitter" blue. As I went through my stuff in my room a few days back, I chanced upon a mug that I received (from my college friend Jamie) as a gift years ago. First thing that came into my mind, "Exactly the shade of blue I want for the bedroom walls!" Now all I have to do is show Tina the mug.

Turnover on Friday!

My mom told me that turnover of our unit will be this Friday! You have no idea how excited I am. So our interior designer is keeping up with the timeline.  The final look must be in on or before Friday. She sent me the following pegs for the entertainment center to choose from:

What do you think? Speaking of entertainment, I check out some LED TV sets with Ramil yesterday. I particularly liked the Sony BRAVIA KDL32EX600 32-Inch HDTV and Samsung LED HDTV. Honestly, I like the quality of Samsung better, but a Sony TV will be nice to go with a Sony PlayStation. :D Either way, I have to start saving up for it, in case the father doesn't have plans on buying one.

Scatola by Rajo Laurel

Given the limited space of a condo unit, it's ideal to bring in multifunctional items. This ottoman, recommended by Shi, doubles as a "sofa bed," which makes it perfect for my living space-to-be.

I'm surprised to find out that this piece is designed by known Filipino fashion designer Rajo Laurel.

Time for a Simpler Design

If I can't make drastic changes in my life at this point, I'd just have to alter my blog design. What a way to put my frustration into something constructive! Kidding aside, I feel that I do have to make some changes with how my blog looks. It's time to dress this site with something more classic - something that won't go out of style. Of course, I still have to consider that the design should represent my personality and interests.

With these considerations in mind, I'm having trouble finding the perfect design. The color palette to use is easy. There must be brown somewhere in this blog! It's the overall look with all the graphics and stuff that makes it difficult for me decide. I'm running out of ideas, and I think I need to seek the help of a professional.

Anyway, I hope I'd be able to come up with a new design before July starts.
