As I am about to embark on a new journey soon, making some changes with Quingdom.com perfectly complements my disposition of rebirth. I’ll let you in on the details soon!
Please bear with me as I am in-between hosts. If you are subscribed to my RSS feed (which I am highly encouraging you to do so) through e-mail or Feedly, you might be receiving notifications of blog entries that are dated as far back as 2008. It’s just me reposting the entries to the WordPress platform. Yeah, I like wasting my time and expending energy doing things manually.
Why the Switch from Typepad to WordPress.org?
Typepad was the top blogging platform when I transferred from Blog City in 2008. It was through The Screen Savers, a show hosted by Leo Laporte and Patrick Norton, that I learned about Typepad. (Yes, I was a computer geek back then.) Sadly, it has not been able to keep up with blog innovations as much as its competition.
After a 6-year blogging relationship with Typepad, I have finally made the bittersweet decision to transfer to the self-hosted WordPress.org. Typepad’s not so SEO optimized platform needs to be worked on and I wasn’t really feeling the outdated look of the themes and templates.
What I will terribly miss with Typepad is their very quick and efficient customer support. They have the best team to handle all the queries and concerns of their subscribers. I hope they keep up the great customer service!
The only downside as a Wordpress user is I would have to rely heavily on forums, online articles and my colleagues who are well versed with codes. But I think I’ll survive just like how I put up Quingdom.com’s new look.
