As I have mentioned in a previous blog post about switching careers and starting anew, I’m back in school currently taking culinary classes. I’m on an intensive eight-month program that demands focus, diligence and hard work. It is eating up more of my time than I expected (part of which is caused by Metro Manila traffic), but it’s all good and I’m loving it! The pressure is on, but it’s the good and inspiring kind. Still it feels amazing to be at this stage in my life where I’m (again) doing something I enjoy.
It is a tremendous feeling to get past the initial leg of the course with both written and practical exams over and done with. The beauty of education is you get better as you feed yourself with knowledge everyday and having the opportunity to practice the needed skills help you progress. Nothing beats the sense of accomplishment and knowing that you have become a better person than you were yesterday, bringing you closer to your goal.
To share with you what we have done in class, here are some photos of the food and dishes we were acquainted with as we started off our culinary journey.
